*NYC Theatrical Premiere, One Week Only!*

Mischievously deadpan and deliciously perverse, Zach Clark's MODERN LOVE IS AUTOMATIC is a no-wave comedy following the secret exploits of Lorraine (Melodie Sisk), a bored nurse who becomes drawn into a seedy world of lonely men, cheap motel rooms, whips and chains. "At first knowing and campy, but growing darker and more interesting by degrees" (Variety), SXSW's vibrant cult hit makes its New York theatrical run with a week-long engagement, August 20 - 26.

Every day, Lorraine rides the bus to work, listens to coworkers' gossip, and returns home to her boyfriend. None of it really matters. When she's cheated on, it's far from emotionally devastating. After her new roommate Adrian (Maggie Ross) moves in, Lorraine soon finds her true calling as a dominatrix... or is even that just one more distraction?

Meanwhile, Adrian's dreams of becoming a glamorous fashion model are cut short when the only employment she can find is showcasing mattresses in a strip mall. It doesn't help that her boyfriend Mitch (Carlos Bustamante) is obsessed with the increasingly distant Lorraine. In pursuing their hidden desires and misguided dreams, both girls find their paths crossing in unexpected ways.

93 minutes. In English. Presented in Blu-ray. Unrated.

"The manner in which it revisits the black-comedy trash films of [the 1980s] is more than superficial... MODERN LOVE allows in traces of vulnerability and pathos; the effect is surprisingly poignant."
- Cindy Widner, AUSTIN CHRONICLE

"Resembles the kind of candy-colored, off-the-cuff riff that might have emerged if Andy Warhol had ever tried his hand at SEX AND THE CITY... Maggie Ross is a knockout!"
- Guy Lodge, IN CONTENTION

"While never losing its broad satiric sneer, MODERN LOVE eventually becomes a portrait of an unlikely friendship, and climaxes with a shadowy karaoke triumph, to New Order's 'Age of Consent.' Sweet."
- Michael Atkinson, THE VILLAGE VOICE

"The schizo theatrics, professionally assured performances, and a too-rare funniness here make for absorbing and refreshing viewing."
- Justin Stewart, THE L MAGAZINE

"It's all kind of addictive... Mr. Clark lands you, and his characters, at a place you weren't expecting."
- Neil Genzlinger, THE NEW YORK TIMES
